Barefoot Consultancy Ltd was founded in March 2011 when it was identified that there were gaps in the Kenyan hospitality sector, especially in revenue management, eCommerce, and training. Since then Barefoot has expanded its portfolio into strategic hospitality consultancy such as feasibility studies, operator search & selection, hotel asset sales, and areas outside of the industry such as trade.

Catherine Gachie
Team Leader and Managing Director
A Nairobian by birth, Catherine graduated with a Bsc. in International Business Administration from United States International University Africa sometime in the 90’s. Since then she has undertaken an MBA at the same institution with a double minor in Strategic Management and Information & Technology Management. Other tertiary studies include Hotel Revenue Management and Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management from Cornell.
Before starting Barefoot Consultancy in 2011, Catherine was the Area Revenue Director Africa for IHG. Other roles over the years have included Group eCommerce Manager – Sarova Hotels, Revenue Manager – Sarova Stanley, Yield Manager – Heritage Hotels to name but a few. When she has a moment, Catherine loves to play golf and the clarinet.
She is currently the Business Development Manager for HVS in East Africa and also an Executive member of the Kenya Association of Women In Tourism.
Fridah Kariuki
Revenue Manager
Born and raised in Central Kenya, Kirinyaga County, Fridah graduated with a BSc. Ecotourism, Hotel & Institution Management with IT from Maseno University in Kisumu. In 2018 she acquired an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi. Other career growth initiatives include being chosen to join the Management Trainee program at one of the prestigious 5- Star Hotel Groups in Kenya. Late 2015, Fridah was hired as a Revenue Manager in an Africa based Online Travel Agent.
After two years in Revenue Management for Hotels in East and Southern Africa, it was clear that this was the path to take. She then moved to Barefoot Consultancy Ltd, as a Revenue Management Executive and thereafter promoted to Revenue Manager.
During free time, Fridah loves doing charity work, travelling and watching movies.
George Odenyo Litunya
Digital Marketing Consultant
George Odenyo Litunya (@Odenyo_George) is the founder and CEO of Actuate Digital, a Nairobi-based digital marketing agency specializing in digital public relations, content marketing, social media, and online advertising. Actuate Digital is the first digital marketing agency to offer integrated services that aim at improving both the brands position in the market as well business sales. A graduate of Moi University, School of Human Resources Development in Communication and Public Relations, George spent six years in traditional marketing positions prior to launching Actuate Digital Solutions in February of 2016.
